Graeber's parents left their casino jobs in 1967 and relocated to Lancaster, PA. Graeber
is a self-described "Amish-brat", hopping from Amish community to Amish
community throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio until finally settling in Nappanee, IN. when he
was 14. After going through his "Mennonite Phase", he settled into the Amish
faith. Graeber is a successful farmer, with over 40 acres of land behind his modest
ranch cabin in Nappanee. Although he doesn't remember much of it, sources agree that
Graeber met Carl and Barry while playing Amazing Grace (on a guitar he carved out of an
old barn door) at the Woolton family barn raising - the rest is history

After growing up in Berne, Carl, at the age of 17, hitched a ride on a buggy bound for
Nappanee, IN. Two years later, he arrived. Carl experimented with various mind -altering
substances over the next couple of years, leading him to a dark period of his life in
which he tried transcendentalism, voodoo, and some weird religion where they worshipped a
shaved beaver..he would not elaborate. Carl finally cleaned himself up in time to
meet Graeber and Barry at the Woolton family barn raising. Graeber, Carl noticed, was
"hopped up" on hard cider, but impressed Carl by knowing all the chords to
"Amazing Grace" - the rest is history

After a childhood plagued by illness, Barry left the Amish community at age 19 to engage
in several business ventures ranging from a tax preparation office to opening a beauty
salon/cheese shop in South Bend, IN. An explosion caused by a freak interaction (at the
molecular level) between hair-coloring dye and some Gouda-gone-bad closed the business.
Barry returned to the Amish community during a square dance at the Woolton family barn
raising where Carl and Graeber were performing as the Buggymen - the rest is history.
